The Fiandre Light No-Rain Jacket is constructed for rain in cool — but not cold — weather with the option to add under-layers for precipitation on colder days. The jacket takes its name from one of its two fabrics, No-Rain Light. No-Rain Light is a Lycra-based fabric treated with Sportful’s nanotech water repellent finish in order to make a water-resistant but stretchy and well-fitting fabric. This is used on the forearms and back to protect the areas most likely to be exposed to rain. It also grants more breathability than the more heavily insulated iterations of No-Rain material. It keeps all moisture, regardless of its origin, where you want it: off your skin. The other fabric is WindShield 3L, a stretchy, windproof material that Sportful employs for protection on the front, shoulders, and upper arms — the places where you’ll be catching the most wind. The fit is more relaxed and stretchy than Sportful’s more insulated Fiandre No-Rain Jacket, which affords the opportunity to layer as conditions demand. Sportful makes judicious use of zippers and zipper-related tech by hiding the full-length front zipper under a wind flap and thoughtfully including zippered openings for access to jersey pockets that would otherwise languish under the jacket. Reflective strips on the lower back help keep you visible in low-light conditions.
